Hopwood & LaRue Catering and Events is committed to supporting you throughout the planning process to ensure a successful and memorable event.

Cloverlea Farmhouse & Memorial Gardens

The historic Cloverlea Farmhouse and Virginia Claytor Memorial Gardens provide a stunning backdrop with panoramic views of the Peaks of Otter and the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it a popular wedding venue. The farmhouse is a six-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house available for overnight lodging.

Snidow Chapel & Memorial Ballroom

Snidow Chapel is a stunning and spiritual venue on campus that accommodates up to 400 guests for weddings and special ceremonies. It features a grand piano, pipe organ (with approved accompanist), A/V equipment, and a beautiful two-sided art quilt you can choose to display. The chapel also offers convenient parking, optional event signage, and thoughtful touches like balcony space for photography and aisle runner accommodations.

Our Wedding Packages

Guest Capacity

Choose the package that fits your vision: host up to 400 guests (on campus) or our Cloverlea Packages for up to 160 guests with the Exclusive or Premium Package, Day Package, Intimate Outdoor Ceremony, or Elopement Ceremony.

Time on Site

Enjoy extended access with 43 hours for the Exclusive Package down to three hours for Elopements — each designed to give you the right amount of time for a smooth, joyful day.

What's Included in Every Package

All packages include a planning session, ceremony seating, your choice of outdoor spaces, restroom access, basic parking and signage, and on-site staff support.

Ceremony & Reception Setup

The Exclusive, Premium, and Day Packages include a reception space. For Cloverlea only, open-air setups are provided for smaller packages, with the option to add a tent for an extra fee.
We handle the setup and takedown for you.

Premium Perks for Larger Packages

Higher-tier packages add features like a one-hour rehearsal, access to grounds for photos, dressing areas, and fire pit lounges.

Catering and Dining

Hopwood & LaRue Catering can provide cocktail hour and reception dinner service with full-service table settings available upon request. Our venues feature various layout options with tables and chairs provided, as well as additional tableware and linens available for a fee. Events catered by Hopwood & LaRue may require additional on-site staffing.
